FIFTH GRADER BECOMES PRINCIPAL: Mackenzie, a fifth grader at Our Lady Queen of Mercy Catholic School, accepts the title of “principal” on Friday, March 16. Susan Duke, principal, will step aside as Mackenzie assumes her duties of making the morning announcements and choosing the lunch menu as well as a host of other responsibilities.
“I'm looking forward to having her be principal,” laughs Duke. “Mackenzie won her job by having her parents be the highest bidder as part of our fall P.T.O.-sponsored live auction. She'll have a great day!”
