Second Grade
Teacher: Mrs. Macchia
I have taught Second Grade at OLQM for 8 years, and have been a teacher in the Archdiocese for the past 13 years. My first year of teaching I was awarded the First Class Teacher of the Year Award for the state of Alabama. This honor provided me with a trip to Washington DC to meet with our Alabama senators to discuss current educational issues. I have also been named in the Who's Who of American Teachers twice.
My goal as a teacher is to provide each child with a positive, nuturing, and spiritual environment in which to grow. I strive to meet each child's individual academic and personal needs. Most of alI, I look forward each year to the joy that comes with preparing our second graders for their First Holy Communion.
Queen of Mercy has recently started using a new method to post pictures on the Internet. Please click on the Flickr logo and then visit the Second Grade icon on the page. Please feel free to post a comment or view as a slide show. (Note: This software is still being installed, so a complete set of pictures may not be uploaded until September 07.)
